Amscot Financial Contributes Mini-Grants to 11 Non-Profit Service Organizations
TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Amscot Financial, a leading provider of convenient, consumer-oriented financial services, has made mini-grants of $100 to $250 to 11 non-profit service organizations in its 15-county service area. The grants went to:
- Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Tampa. In 1991, two Tampa mothers, Melissa Helms and Risa Tramel met while their infant daughters were undergoing treatment for pediatric cancer. Through advancements made from research, both Melissa and Risa's daughters survived their battles with cancer and are now healthy young adults. With this experience, Melissa and Risa gained an awareness that would inspire them to launch the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Over the past 18 years, the foundation has raised $3.8 million for research. For more information, visit the website at www.pcfusa.org.
