AMILPAR - Revenues Grow 17% and EBITDA Increases 32% in the 9M11

RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Amil Participacoes S.A. (BM&FBovespa: AMIL3; Bloomberg: AMIL3 BZ; Reuters: AMIL3.SA), the largest healthcare operator in Brazil, announces today its consolidated results for September 30, 2011, in accordance with Brazilian corporate law and the ANS account chart. Since December 2010, Amilpar's consolidated financial statements have included the new accounting rules aligning Brazilian corporate law with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). As a result, the figures of previous periods may present variations in relation to the previously published figures.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Total membership stood at 5,698.6 thousand at the end of September 2011, 10.3% up on the 3Q10 and 1.4% higher than in the 2Q11.
  • Adjusted Operating Revenues totaled R$ 2,361.3 million in the 3Q11, 18.7% up year-on-year and 5.4% more than the previous quarter. In the 9M11 operating revenues amounted to R$ 6,753.5 million, 17.2% up on the 9M10.
  • The 3Q11 Medical Loss Ratio came to 72.6%, 0.3 p.p. down on the 3Q10, while the year-to-date ratio stood at 71.4%, 1.3 p.p. lower than the 9M10.
  • Adjusted EBITDA was R$ 170.6 million (with a margin of 7.2%) in the 3Q11, 38.8% higher than in the 3Q10, and R$ 565.1 million (with a margin of 8.4%) in the 9M11, 31.5% up on the same period of 2010.
  • Adjusted Net Income totaled R$ 65.9 million in the 3Q11, 66.4% up year-on-year, and R$ 210.2 million in the first nine months, a 27.9% improvement over the 9M10.
