OneVoice Israel Executive Director Tal Harris and OneVoice Palestine Executive Director Samer Makhlouf will serve as keynote speakers and panelists in a number of public and private events with U.S. government officials, religious communities, peace activists, academic institutions, and technology industry leaders.
Statement from Tal Harris:
"Our upcoming tour will provide a valuable opportunity for international audiences to play an important role in ending the conflict," said Harris. "We are proud to have developed one of the only programs that bring voices from the region directly to American audiences, and through our parallel work, we will show the world what the right solution is and how to get there. By facilitating these unique face-to-face meetings with regional leaders, OneVoice is once again providing global stakeholders with an extraordinary chance to learn firsthand the reality of the conflict, its core issues, and the actions taken by our dedicated advocates to advance the two-state solution. We understand for some, the hope for peace can begin to wane in the face of failed attempts and turbulent climates, but no matter what reversals and setbacks we suffer, we will continue our activism to end this conflict."
Statement from Samer Makhlouf:
"I am excited to travel to the United States to engage with those who share our passion and commitment to end the conflict," said Makhlouf. "The tours will help showcase our organization's ongoing grassroots efforts to challenge the status quo and strive for self-determination, justice, and rights for all while sharing the difficult reality of the conflict and life under occupation. Our hope is to not only generate support for our work on the ground, but to also inspire the international community to employ the necessary pressure to help both parties achieve peace and security. Through these speaking tours, OneVoice and its supporters will continue empowering the grassroots to engage and mobilize their communities and decision makers in the pursuit of a safe and prosperous future for generations of Palestinians and Israelis."
Tal Harris and Samer Makhlouf are both available for comment and available to provide insights into the challenges and opportunities to the peace process directly from the region. For a full-list of open events and/or to request interviews, please contact Jenn Prystupa at [email protected].
About OneVoice:
OneVoice is an international grassroots movement that aims to amplify the voice of Israeli and Palestinian moderates, empowering them to demand a two-state solution and an end to the conflict and occupation. The Movement supports the creation of an independent Palestinian state alongside a secure Israel. We believe that the 1967 borders with minor land swaps, a freeze in settlement activity, and the maintaining of security for both peoples are an essential basis for success. OneVoice also educates and trains Israeli and Palestinian youth in leadership skills, non-violent activism, and democratic principles.
