AMERISAFE Named to Ward's 2010 Top 50 Property-Casualty List

DERIDDER, La., July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AMERISAFE, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMSF), a specialty writer of high hazard workers' compensation insurance, has been named to the 2010 Ward's 50 list of top performing property-casualty insurance companies.  This represents the second consecutive year that AMERISAFE has been named to the list.  More than 3,000 property-casualty insurance companies domiciled in the United States were included in this year's analysis.  

The Ward Group looks for companies that outperform the industry in these areas: financial stability, revenue growth, capital/surplus position, underwriting results, and financial returns.  The Ward's 50 property-casualty group of companies was 5.1 points higher for the five-year return on average equity compared to the industry average and produced a combined ratio that was 7.3 points lower.
