Amerigroup Announces New Executive Hires
Company Creates a Dedicated Office of Health Reform
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., July 20, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amerigroup Corporation (NYSE: AGP) today announced the hiring of three experienced executives to lead the Company in key management positions. Patrick McIntyre has been hired as senior vice president of Health Care Economics, Angel Oddo has been hired as senior vice president of Quality Management, and Maureen McDonnell has been hired as vice president of the Office of Health Reform Integration.

McIntyre oversees the Health Care Economics department, with responsibility for internal data and services including provider analytics and reporting, premium and claims integrity, and analytic platforms and services. Prior to joining Amerigroup, McIntyre worked as an executive for UnitedHealth Group and gained experience in business strategy and operations, financial leadership, business development, analytics and technology. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas Tech University and his master's degree in business administration from Winthrop University.
Oddo's Quality Management team aligns members' health care needs with clinical quality and accreditation strategies through appropriate surveys, reviews and accreditations. Prior to joining Amerigroup, Oddo worked as a vice president of quality and health services for Coventry Health with oversight of utilization and case management activities in Western Pennsylvania, Northwestern Pennsylvania and Ohio. She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Penn State University and a master's degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University.
McDonnell leads a newly formed team dedicated to evaluating health care reform changes and working both externally and internally to ensure Amerigroup is positioned to integrate the new health care guidelines. Prior to joining Amerigroup, McDonnell provided consulting services to non-profit organizations and political candidates. Previously, she served as vice president of institutional advancement and university relations for Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va., where she had responsibility for fundraising, community relations, marketing and special events. McDonnell began her career at IBM Corporation, where she served in a variety of public sector-focused marketing, sales management and business development roles over her 16 years of service. McDonnell holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame.
