AmericInn® Announces Winners In Random Acts Of Vacation™ Contest

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The appreciation of friends and family are much in evidence in the initial winners of the AmericInn^® summer campaign, Random Acts of Vacation™. Twenty winners have been selected so far from among more than 3,000 nominations from 49 states.

AmericInn—the largest mid-scale hotel brand in the upper Midwest, launched the promotion to find the country's most deserving recipients to win free nights good at any of the more than 200 AmericInn locations in 24 states (a $400 value). Those who submitted a winning nomination also receive $400 worth of free nights.

Reacting to the huge response, Paul Kirwin, AmericInn President and CEO said, "It's amazing to see all the wonderful ways that everyday folks have gone out of their way to help others, even as they face their own personal challenges. We're really pleased to be recognizing some of them."

One of the first winners is Brian Carpenter of Winchester, Ky. "Carp" as his friends call him runs a non-profit church-owned coffee house that funds a community teen center that provides a safe, positive environment for 20 to 30 kids each day. His nominator says Carp rarely takes more than an occasional day or two off and that he and his wife deserve a vacation. AmericInn agrees.

Thomas and Maria Kelnhofer of Greenfield, Wis., were nominated by their grandson for their encouragement, support and their volunteer work in school libraries, with school projects and chaperoning field trips…and because they will celebrate their 50^th wedding anniversary next year.

Another winner is Diane Cassidy of Iron Mountain, Mich. She was nominated by her husband Scott, who has been on active-duty Army for more than 20 years. Scott says he often gets thanked for his service, but Diane is the one who should be thanked for her sacrifices and the challenges she faces with raising their family.

All nominations can be viewed at RandomActsofVacation.com. Through Aug. 20 anyone can nominate a friend, neighbor, family member, co-worker or loved one to win free nights. Nominations may be up to 1,000 characters. An accompanying photo is optional, but preferred. AmericInn will select two winners per week through Labor Day.
