America's Natural Gas Alliance Names Amy Farrell Vice President of Regulatory Affairs
WASHINGTON, June 23, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --America's Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) has named Amy Farrell as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Farrell comes to ANGA with a strong background in energy and environmental policy and regulatory matters.
In her new role, Farrell will help guide ANGA's work with the executive branch on policies that put the nation's vast domestic natural gas resource to greater use, thereby helping to create jobs, reduce U.S. dependence on foreign energy and improve air quality.
"Amy's knowledge of energy and environmental policy, coupled with her deep understanding of regulatory processes will be a tremendous asset to ANGA's efforts to promote greater utilization of this clean, domestic energy source," said ANGA President and CEO Regina Hopper. "We are thrilled to have her working with us, given her extraordinary credentials in both the federal executive branch and the private sector."
Farrell joins ANGA from Exxon Mobil Corp., where she advised senior executives on a range of policy issues. Prior to that, she held several positions in the George W. Bush administration, including at the Environmental Protection Agency, the White House's Office of Management and Budget, the Council on Environmental Quality, and the National Economic Council. In these roles, she helped develop and guide the administration's environmental and energy policy efforts.
"We are at a crucial moment for energy policy in the United States," Farrell said. "Natural gas is domestically abundant and affordable, and its development will improve our economy and our energy and national security. I look forward to working with ANGA's member companies in advancing policies to make natural gas' vast potential a reality."
