DALLAS, Feb. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Every traveler has a city they feel passionate about or one that they have a complicated relationship with. The travel experts at Hotels.com® set out to uncover the most beloved U.S. cities that have Americans frantically falling head over heels with for the second annual Cities We Love Survey.
- Midwest Region: The Windy City was the clear fan favorite for Americans. Chicago, the sixth most popular domestic destination for Americans according to the Hotels.com Hotel Price Index™ (HPI™), was named the most charming Midwest city. It was also picked as the Midwestern city Americans would most likely go on a blind date with and visit for the first time. On the other side of the spectrum, another recent Hotels.com survey* revealed that Americans feel Detroit is the least romantic U.S city.
- Northeast Region: While it may not come as a surprise to some, New York was identified as the Northeastern city that's the hardest to break up with. However, Boston slightly edged out New York when it came to longevity – being named the one Northeastern city Americans would live in till death do them part.
- Southern Region: While New Orleans is widely adored for its charming architecture and culture, the Big Easy was actually surpassed by Savannah, Ga. as the "Most Charming" city in the South. New Orleans, however, was identified as the Southern city respondents would most want to go on a blind date with and visit for the first time.
- Western Region: Although a fairly close call, respondents picked San Francisco as the hardest city in the West to break up with, while they would settle down and tie the knot with San Diego. One city that needs more love – Boise, Idaho – it was deemed the runner up in least romantic U.S. city category*.
