American to Launch Additional Service Between Miami International Airport and Buenos Aires, Argentina
MIAMI, March 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines announced today that it will start a new seasonal flight between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The new flight will operate four times a week, from July 2 through Aug. 23, 2010, subject to government approvals.
American, a founding member of the global oneworld® Alliance, will fly the new route with its 247-seat, three-class Boeing 777-200 aircraft, which features 16 seats in First Class, 37 seats in Business Class, and 194 seats in Economy. American flies all routes to Argentina on its B777-200 aircraft.
Currently, American operates two daily flights to Buenos Aires from Miami. It also flies one daily flight from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and another daily flight from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
"As we celebrate 20 years of service to Buenos Aires, we are delighted to offer this new flight during the high season," said Peter Dolara, American's Senior Vice President based in Miami. "Argentina offers our customers looking for a South American vacation a rich and unique cultural experience. Known for being an important financial center, Buenos Aires is also a popular destination for our business travelers. In addition, this new service from Miami complements our existing service to Buenos Aires from Dallas/Ft. Worth and New York and offers passengers flying through our Miami hub a host of convenient connections to other U.S. cities, Europe and the Caribbean, and further solidifies Miami's position as the premier gateway to the Americas."
American and its regional affiliate, American Eagle, currently serve 42 destinations throughout Latin America – more than any other U.S. airline.
