American Technology Awards to Feature Keynote from HelloWallet Founder Matt Fellowes
TechAmerica to recognize outstanding achievement in 15 technical categories
WASHINGTON, May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With one week until the inaugural American Technology Awards (ATAs) Showcase at D.C. startup hub 1776 on May 20, TechAmerica announced that HelloWallet CEO Matt Fellowes will keynote the event and Steve Perkins, national managing director, Technology Industry Practice, Grant Thornton LLP, will serve as master of ceremonies.
Fellowes founded HelloWallet, which provides independent financial guidance to employees at Fortune 500 companies, in 2009. He has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and TechCrunch, after previously serving as a Brooking Institution fellow. In 2013, HelloWallet won a Webby for best financial services website.

CompTIA recently acquired TechAmerica, and the ATAs will be the new organization's first major event following the transaction.
The showcase intends to bring innovative tech companies together with their customers, legislators, legislative staff and government executives. At the event's reception, award finalists have a complimentary tabletop exhibit space to demo their new products to attendees.
Awards are given out in the categories of advanced manufacturing/technology manufacturing; aerospace and defense; big data; clean tech/green tech; cloud computing/software as a service; consumer electronics/computers and peripherals; cybersecurity; health and medical technologies; Internet services, e-commerce and mobility; IT services and consulting; semiconductors and electronic components; server and storage technology; smart grid and smart instruments; software; and telecommunications. In all, there are 40 finalists across the 15 categories
