American Sentinel University Granted Initial Accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission

DENVER, March 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- American Sentinel University today announced that it has been granted initial accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Earning HLC accreditation is a major achievement that demonstrates the credibility and excellence of the University.

At its meeting on February 27, 2020, the HLC Board of Trustees voted to grant American Sentinel University initial accreditation after a four-year candidacy period and after considering materials from the most recent comprehensive evaluation, including, but not limited to: the Assurance Filing submitted by American Sentinel, the report from the comprehensive evaluation team, the report of the Institutional Actions Council (IAC) Hearing Committee and the institutional responses to these reports.

American Sentinel adds regional accreditation to its national accreditation with the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), and programmatic accreditations with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

The University will work tirelessly over the coming years to ensure its programs continue to meet the standards of its accrediting bodies.
