WASHINGTON, July 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Red Cross has elected to its National Board of Governors Y. Michele Kang, CEO and Founder of Cognosante.
The Red Cross is led by a Board of Governors with all of the powers of governing and directing, as well as overseeing the management of the business and affairs of the organization. At the Annual Meeting of the Red Cross held on July 19, 2018, delegates from local Red Cross units elected Kang to a three-year term.

Y. Michele Kang is the founder and chief executive officer of Cognosante, a health IT company which provides strategic consulting, acquisition support, application development, data integration, data standards and business process operations services. She launched the Cognosante Foundation in 2012, which is focused on helping underprivileged and under-resourced individuals build careers and achieve financial independence. Prior to founding Cognosante, Ms. Kang held positions at Northrop Grumman as a management consultant. She is currently a member of the Kennedy Center International Committee on the Arts.
