MECHANICSBURG, Pa., June 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- American Mint, LLC President Kevin Sacher proudly announced the 1-year anniversary that the S. Wilson Pollock Center for Industrial Training (PCIT) has been working on-site at American Mint's U.S. headquarters.
Established as a subsidiary of The Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties (CPARC) which was formed in 1953, PCIT is a vocational training program that employs over 300 individuals with disabilities daily and over 425 a year. The agency boasts a state-of-the-art 30,000 square foot warehouse facility and offers a variety of contract packaging services, including hand packaging, assembly, labeling, shrink wrapping, and collating. American Mint, a leading provider of commemorative coins and other collectibles, is one of about 10 companies per month for which the agency provides shipment services.
The organizations recently announced a successful 10-year partnership, which began with sending product to PCIT's facility in order to get them ready for shipment. In the past year, PCIT has sent workers on-site to finish production of the items and prepare them for shipping to customers, which has improved efficiency in American Mint's warehouse. Both organizations look forward to a continuing successful partnership.
Sacher said, "PCIT has helped us out tremendously. They are available on short notice, supply us with a detailed staff, and provide adequate manpower during seasonal business periods, which we really appreciate. We count on them to help keep our business going." Bob Morrison, the on-site supervisor at PCIT, responded, "We value our partnership with American Mint, who has provided rewarding job opportunities to people with disabilities. We like sending our workers to American Mint's headquarters, as this helps them to develop necessary life skills."
