LAUREL, Md., Nov. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Governors of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) is proud to announce the 2018 class of AIUM Fellows.
"These individuals represent and illustrate the diversity not only of AIUM's membership, but also the use of medical ultrasound," said AIUM CEO Glynis Harvey, CAE. "This year's class includes physicians, sonographers, and scientists who represent multiple medical specialties."
Each new AIUM Fellow has demonstrated a commitment to both the AIUM and to medical ultrasound. In addition to being nominated and meeting the stated eligibility requirements, each new AIUM Fellow completed a comprehensive application and secured letters of recommendation. Each application packet was reviewed by a committee. Those that passed through committee were ultimately approved by AIUM's Board of Governors.
These individuals join a small and select group of medical ultrasound experts, luminaries, and leaders who are recognized as AIUM Fellows. In fact, less than 3% of AIUM members have achieved this designation. They will also now be able to add FAIUM to their list of credentials.
