American Innovations Announces New MicroMax GPS300 Current Interrupter
Next Generation GPS-Synchronized Current Interrupter Enables Oil and Gas Industry Leaders To Safeguard Their Valuable Infrastructure with Cathodic Protection
AUSTIN, Texas, March 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- American Innovations, protecting people and the environment with compliance solutions for the oil and gas industry, announces the launch of the MicroMax GPS300. This newest generation GPS-synchronized current interrupter is designed specifically for cathodic protection surveys.
Conceived and built on customer input, as well as the success of prior generation MicroMax interrupters, the GPS300 – first and foremost – is simple to use. It can be programmed utilizing a straightforward built-in keypad or via USB cable. This simplicity greatly reduces programming errors, as well as prep and installation time, freeing surveyors to do the real work at-hand – surveying assets and collecting data.
Additionally, MicroMax GPS300 is built tough. Not only is it electrically rugged, it's also durable enough to withstand the most extreme treatment and severe weather conditions. And as the smallest interrupter on the market, MicroMax GPS300 can be installed inside rectifiers, further protecting it from the elements, not to mention vandalism and theft.
The device can be powered from an AC or DC source, common in most rectifiers, for quick installation and dependable operation. It functions in continuous, daily, dated and interference modes to fit any interruption schedule. Our unique interference mode helps operators determine the influence of each rectifier – whether it's their own or another operator's – on the structure under test.
Additionally, it's built with AC zero crossing interruption synchronization that switches when the AC voltage is at zero. This lowers stress on rectifiers and interruption switch components, reducing the possibility of rectifier and solid state relay (SSR) failure. The GPS300's complex functionality ensures operators comply with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Title 49 CFR, Parts 192 and 195.
"We are extremely excited about the addition of the MicroMax GPS300 to our suite of products," says American Innovations' President Ed Kruft. "It is fully compatible with existing MicroMax interrupters and our Bullhorn® wireless remote monitors with interruption. It also complements AI's Pipeline Compliance System and Allegro Field Data Computer, which help customers collect, analyze and report compliance information."
