American Idol Finalist, Scott MacIntyre, Performs at the 100th Anniversary Gala for the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind
MECHANICSBURG, Pa., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) and their celebration of the milestone will prove to be one of the most historic events ever offered.
On Thursday, October 14, 2010, PAB will kick-off the festivities at 5:00pm with a Silent Auction Cocktail Reception at the Crowne Plaza in Harrisburg. Wine baskets, art, trips, jewelry, iPads and more will be auctioned to the highest bidder, with all proceeds benefiting programs for Pennsylvanians who are blind or visually impaired.
An "Around the World" Dinner will be served at 6:30pm where guests will have the opportunity to taste foods from Ireland, Italy, China, and the United States.
Following dinner, guests will walk to the Whitaker Center where they will see the featured performance for the Gala, American Idol Top Ten Finalist, Scott MacIntyre. As the first visually impaired finalist on American Idol, Scott was called, "An inspiration to the entire world through his commitment and through his talent." Doors open at 7:30pm and the Concert will begin at 8:30pm.

For 100 years, PAB and its network of 29 Member Agencies have been dedicated to helping Pennsylvanians prevent, prepare for and manage vision loss. The Gala event will pay tribute to the many people and events that shaped what the organization has become over the decades.
