American Heart Association names Frisbie Memorial Hospital a Gold-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite

ROCHESTER, N.H., July 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester was recently recognized as a Gold-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association, which acknowledges employers who champion the health of their employees by creating wellness programs within the workplace.

The program serves as a catalyst for positive change in American business and encourages other worksites to participate and demonstrate similar physical activity practices for their employees.

Worksites apply for Recognition voluntarily. Those that achieve Gold-Level status must offer employees physical activity support, increase the number of healthy eating options at work, promote a wellness culture and adhere to a strict tobacco policy. In addition, worksites must implement at least six criteria as outlined by the American Heart Association in the areas of physical activity, nutrition and culture.
