American Family Care Skyrockets Up Prestigious Inc. 5000 List
Healthcare leader ranks as one of nation's fastest growing
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second time during the past three years, American Family Care (AFC) has earned a spot on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest growing private companies. This year, Birmingham-based AFC jumped to No. 1,298 on the distinguished list, up from No. 4,635 in 2013. The company also ranked in the top 10 among health-related companies with greater than $100 million in annual revenue.
With nearly $300 million in annual system-wide revenue and more than 1,200 employees, AFC achieved revenue growth of 320% and added more than 570 new jobs since 2011 – driven by the nation's need for high-quality, accessible health care. "We are delighted to be among the fastest growing companies in the U.S.," said D. Bruce Irwin, M.D., Founder and CEO of AFC. "Our success is the direct result of the dedication our employees and franchisees have toward delivering compassionate, convenient healthcare to our patients around the corner and around the nation."
During the past 33 years, AFC has pioneered the concept of non-emergency room urgent care and expanded its footprint to more than 26 states. Each clinic features a high-tech, high-touch approach, including digital x-rays, on-site lab testing, state of the art diagnostics, and electronic medical records. The clinics are staffed by well-trained, compassionate healthcare professionals, resulting in high rates of patient satisfaction. Most clinics are open daily from at least 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and no appointments are necessary.
In 1982, Inc. magazine introduced the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. In 2007, the Inc. 500 list expanded to the Inc. 5000, giving readers a deeper, richer understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape and capturing a broader spectrum of success. This prestigious list of the nation's most successful private companies has become the hallmark of entrepreneurial success and the place where future household names first make their mark. Pandora, 7-Eleven, Toys "R" Us, Zipcar, Zappos.com and numerous other well-known brands have been honored by the Inc. 5000.
