American Family Care Named One of the "Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America"
Entrepreneur Magazine debuts its 360 Performance Index
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- American Family Care (AFC) was recently recognized as one of the "Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America" by Entrepreneur magazine's Entrepreneur360™ Performance Index. The premier study delivers the most comprehensive analysis of private companies in America. AFC is recognized as a company that exemplifies growth, not just in top and bottom line, but in sustainability and ability to achieve lasting success.
"Being named to the Entrepreneur360 list of Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America is a huge honor for us," said Dr. Bruce Irwin, founder and CEO of AFC. "Maintaining an entrepreneurial spirit is an important facet of our company, and it has allowed us to accelerate our growth while also maintaining our focus on providing the highest level of care possible to our patients."
Through in-depth surveys, the team of editors and researchers behind the Entrepreneur360 Performance Index collected more than 250 pieces of data from hundreds of participating U.S. based companies, focusing on growth drivers and challenges, goal setting, resource allocations, and reward systems. "Those honored have identified a problem, come up with a unique solution and bravely built their enterprises around it," said Ryan Shea, president of Entrepreneur Media. "They've accomplished new ways of producing sustainable growth and are an inspiration to others who want to fulfill their own entrepreneurial goals."
Behind the success of American Family Care is its stated goal of 100 percent patient satisfaction. AFC's complaint rate is less than .50 per 1,000 patient visits – an amazingly low rate for any industry, particularly health care. Indeed, according to the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems – a patient satisfaction survey administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for all hospitals in the United States – only 71 percent of responding patients were satisfied with their emergency room and/or hospital experience in 2014. Furthermore, while the average emergency room visit in the U.S. currently exceeds two hours, AFC's average visit from registration to discharge is about an hour.
