American Family Care Climbs Inc. 5000 List for Second Consecutive Year
Health Care Leader Ranks as one of Nation's Fastest-Growing Companies
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For the third time during the past four years, American Family Care (AFC) has earned a spot on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. This year, Birmingham-based AFC jumped to No. 1,010 on the distinguished list, up from a ranking of 1,298 in 2015 and 4,635 in 2013. The company also ranked as the fastest growing health-related company in the U.S. with greater than $200 million in annual revenue.
With more than $400 million in annual system-wide revenue and more than 1,400 employees, AFC achieved revenue growth of more than 300 percent for the second consecutive year. The company also added more than 600 new jobs since 2012 — driven by the nation's need for high-quality, accessible health care. "We are delighted to once again be among the fastest-growing companies in the U.S.," said D. Bruce Irwin, M.D., Founder and CEO of AFC. "I cannot understate the fact that our success is the direct result of the dedication our employees and franchisees have toward delivering compassionate, convenient health care to our patients around the corner and around the nation."
During the past 34 years, AFC has pioneered the concept of non-emergency room urgent care and expanded its footprint to more than 26 states. Each clinic features a high-tech, high-touch approach, including digital x-rays, on-site lab testing, state-of-the-art diagnostics and electronic medical records. The clinics are staffed by well-trained, compassionate health care professionals, resulting in high rates of patient satisfaction. Most clinics are open daily from at least 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and no appointments are necessary.
In 1982, Inc. Magazine introduced the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. In 2007, the Inc. 500 list expanded to the Inc. 5000, giving readers a deeper, richer understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape and capturing a broader spectrum of success. This prestigious list of the nation's most successful private companies has become the hallmark of entrepreneurial success and the place where future household names first make their mark. Pandora, 7-Eleven, Toys"R"Us, Zipcar, Zappos.com and numerous other well-known brands have been honored by the Inc. 5000.
