American Eagle Airlines Launches New Service From Sacramento to Los Angeles
Eagle Flies Four Daily Nonstops and Offers Double AAdvantage Miles
FORT WORTH, Texas, April 5, 2011 -- American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, today started four new daily round-trip flights between Sacramento International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport. The new service will be operated with 44-seat Embraer jets.
"We're delighted to launch our service from Sacramento to American's cornerstone hub in Los Angeles," said Gary Foss, Vice President – Planning and Marketing for American's regional network. "With four daily nonstop flights, customers from Sacramento will have even more travel options throughout the day, as well as more convenient connections through American's Los Angeles cornerstone hub and throughout the oneworld® global network. Favored destinations from Sacramento include Hawaii, Miami, Hong Kong, London, Australia and New Zealand."
One example of those increased travel options is American's new nonstop service from Los Angeles to Shanghai, which also begins today. The new Eagle service to and from Sacramento is timed for convenient Shanghai connections. The new Los Angeles flights also complement existing American Airlines service to American's cornerstone hub in Dallas/Fort Worth. All this is part of a major expansion of the Los Angeles cornerstone hub that will see more than 30 flights added today to 15 communities for a total of over 150 daily flights.
"This is a great opportunity for the Sacramento region and California travelers alike," said Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson. "Competition in the marketplace is always welcome news for the customer and these additional options will no doubt have a positive impact on travelers in our community. I want to commend American Eagle for providing a new level of customer service and convenience that our region will be excited to take advantage of."
