American Eagle Airlines Launches New Service From Boise to Los Angeles
Eagle Offers Two Daily Nonstops and Double AAdvantage Miles
FORT WORTH, Texas, April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, today launched two daily round-trip flights between Los Angeles International Airport and Boise Airport. The new service is operated with 44-seat Embraer jets.
"We're delighted to launch our service from Boise to American's cornerstone hub in Los Angeles," said Gary Foss, Vice President – Planning and Marketing for American's regional network. "With two daily nonstop flights, customers from Boise will have more travel options throughout the day, as well as more convenient connections to the world through American's Los Angeles cornerstone hub, offering convenient connections throughout the oneworld® global network. Favored destinations from Boise include San Diego, Dallas/Fort Worth, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand."
The new flights will aid business connections between Idaho's developing aviation businesses and long established aviation firms in Southern California. All this is part of a major expansion of the Los Angeles cornerstone hub that will see 30 flights added today to 15 communities for a total of over 150 daily flights.
"With Boise's geographic isolation, air service is often the critical component for increased economic activity," said David Bieter, mayor of Boise. "This new route will provide expanded business opportunities between Boise and California, China and beyond. My hat is off to American Eagle for creating this new connection and giving our economic recovery another boost."
"The Boise Chamber is pleased to welcome American Eagle back to Boise with twice daily nonstop service to Los Angeles," said Bill Connors, President & CEO of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce. "This route will give business and leisure travelers from Boise access to American's significant connections to Asia and Latin America, the fastest growing business destinations in the world. The addition of American Eagle nonstops at BOI enhances Boise's status as a business hub in the Intermountain West. American Eagle's enrollment in the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce shows the company's commitment to our community, and we welcome them enthusiastically."
