American Eagle Airlines Announces Nonstop Jet Service Between Dallas/Fort Worth and Columbus, Ga.
Two Daily Nonstops Begin July 15
FORT WORTH, Texas, April 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will begin nonstop jet service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Columbus Metropolitan Airport (CSG), beginning July 15. Eagle will operate the service with 44-seat Embraer ERJ-140 jets.
"American Eagle is pleased to introduce service to Columbus from our largest hub in Dallas/Fort Worth," said Gary Foss, Vice President – Planning and Marketing for the AA Regional Network. "With two daily nonstops, customers in Georgia can make a day trip to DFW or enjoy convenient connections to destinations throughout American's global network."
Situated on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, Columbus is home to Fort Benning, a major U.S. Army post, as well as several large corporations and manufacturers. Visitors to the area can enjoy numerous historic homes and museums, including the Columbus Museum and the National Civil War Naval Museum.
"I want to welcome American Eagle Airlines to Columbus, Georgia," said U.S. Representative Lynn A. Westmoreland (R-Ga.). "We are pleased to have you serving Muscogee County and South Georgia. By offering nonstop flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, you are opening up additional flight options for our travelers. Not only will this provide more convenience for folks in this area, it will also keep more money flowing into the local economy. Your addition is applauded by travelers, business and economic development leaders, and the men and women serving in uniform in the area. Thank you for expanding to Columbus."
"Columbus Airport is thrilled with American Airline's return to our market by offering nonstop regional jet service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport," said Sherry Goodrum, Columbus Airport Commission Chair. "This service will allow travelers from the Chattahoochee Valley to access points to the west and internationally without having to either travel to or through Atlanta first. Service to this hub will directly impact the community by stimulating travel to and from Columbus, which will strengthen the local economy."
