American Dental Association Names New Human Resources Chief

Sabrina A. King appointed managing vice president, Human Resources

CHICAGO, Jan. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Dental Association (ADA) recently announced the appointment of Sabrina A. King as its managing vice president for Human Resources/Organizational Development effective Jan. 18. As leader of the ADA's Human Resources Department, King's responsibilities will include providing strategic guidance to the executive staff regarding key organizational, employee and management issues.

"Ms. King is a welcome addition to the ADA senior management team," said Kathleen O'Loughlin, D.M.D., ADA executive director.  "We look forward to her expertise in human resources and organizational development skills.  These are areas of utmost importance to the ADA as staff works to provide the resources ADA members need to succeed and excel in their practices, improve the oral health of their patients and the public through a strong collaborative dental profession."

Prior to joining the ADA, King served as director of Talent Development for Chicago-based TTX, a provider of railcars and related freight car management services to the North American rail industry. King's responsibilities included rebuilding the company's performance management structure and designing a system to identify and assess key talent. In 2010, TTX was recognized by the Chicago Tribune as one of the "Top 100 Workplaces."  

King formerly served as senior director of the Information Services Project Management Office and a director of Human Resources for GATX in Chicago. King also held human resources positions for Heller Financial Inc., in Chicago, and Sanwa Business Credit Corporation in Chicago.

King is originally from the east coast where she earned a bachelor's degree in international government from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. Following her relocation to Chicago, King earned a master's degree in organization behavior and industrial relations from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in Evanston, Ill.

King serves on the board of the Talent Acquisition Interest Group for the Chicago chapter of the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago.
