ACI's Troutman, DeLeo Promoted to Senior Directors
WASHINGTON, July 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Cleaning Institute(SM) (ACI - formerly The Soap and Detergent Association) has named Jacob Cassady as its new Manager, Government Affairs and announced the promotions of two of its Directors, Douglas Troutman and Paul DeLeo.

Cassady comes to ACI (www.CleaningInstitute.org) from the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE), where he was a Legislative Specialist. The Minnesota native previously worked on Capitol Hill as an aide to former U.S. Senator Mark Dayton (D-MN). He also served as an aide on the House Agriculture Committee during deliberations on the most recent Farm Bill. Cassady was active in a number of Minnesota congressional and state-level campaigns.

Cassady holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Gustavus Adolphus College (St. Peter, MN) and a Master of Arts in Issues/Campaign Management & Media Relations from George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management
ACI Announces Promotions for Douglas Troutman, Paul DeLeo
ACI also recently announced the promotions of Douglas Troutman to Senior Director, Government Affairs, and Dr. Paul DeLeo to Senior Director, Environmental Safety.
Prior to joining ACI in 2007, Troutman served as Senior Manager, Legislative Affairs at Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Inc.'s Washington, D.C. office. He previously worked as Senior Manager, Government Relations, at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association in Arlington, VA. In the early 1990s, Troutman was a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (PA).
Prior to joining ACI in 2007, Dr. DeLeo was a Consumer Safety Officer for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from 2003 to 2007, managing the evaluation of the safety of new food and color additives. Prior to that, he worked as a microbiologist and an environmental scientist for the agency since 1999.
