LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- American Bullion, Inc., a firm that specializes in helping clients procure physical precious metals for Individual Retirement Accounts (gold IRAs), is pleased to announce the five winners of its 2015 essay contest. Elizabeth Blair, Julie Slama, Blanca Gonzales-Phelps, Kelsey Logan, and Aaron Daniels, whose well-composed essays were judged the best out of all entries, will each receive a scholarship in the amount of $500 for answering the question, Why should you trust gold to protect your retirement? Prize checks were mailed to the winners on December 10, 2015.
Blair, a freshman Fashion Merchandising and Design major at Virginia Tech, is appreciative of the financial relief her winnings will provide. "I'm so grateful that I was selected as a winner for this scholarship, which will ease the financial burden of college," she said when contacted with the news.
Slama, who is currently pursuing a degree in Global Affairs at Yale University, wholeheartedly agreed. "Receiving this scholarship greatly lessens the financial burden of my education, and I am exceptionally grateful for this award," she stated. Gonzales-Phelps expressed similar feelings of gratitude. The active duty Marine and mother of three noted, "This scholarship will help cover some of the costs that I incur and has made pursuing my graduate degree that much easier for my family and me. I am so excited and thankful for this winning opportunity."
For Howard University junior Logan, winning American Bullion's contest means she can continue to finance her undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering despite enduring personal hardship. "Last year, I lost my institutional scholarship after going through a difficult period following the death of my last living grandparent," the Memphis native explained. "This scholarship is greatly appreciated. I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for American Bullion, Inc."
And while the immediate benefits of the scholarship are not lost on Daniels, he also has an eye on the bigger picture. "Just like I am learning about the vital importance of a sound foundation for the integrity of a physical structure," the Kennesaw State architecture student said, "I am learning the financial strategies that support the kind of financial future I desire to build."
