American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Names Scott Farrell as New Executive Director
ROSEMONT, Ill., Feb. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, AAOMS, has named Scott C. Farrell as the Executive Director effective March 2, 2016.
Farrell currently serves as the Association's Chief Financial Officer and Associate Executive Director for the areas of finance, membership, information technology, and business.
"Mr. Farrell brings a wealth of experience gleaned from almost 40 years in healthcare association management," said Dr. Louis K. Rafetto, president of the AAOMS. "His in-depth knowledge of the AAOMS, the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery, and the surgeon's unique role and contributions to dentistry and patient care will enable him to admirably serve AAOMS and our fellows and members."
Mr. Farrell's appointment follows an extensive, nationwide search. He will succeed Robert C. Rinaldi, PhD, CAE, who is retiring from the AAOMS after more than 18 years as its Executive Director.

Farrell holds a Masters of Business Administration from DePaul University's Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant. Farrell worked as finance director at the American Medical Association for twenty years, prior to joining AAOMS in 1998. Farrell has been elected an honorary fellows of the AAOMS.
