American Apparel Announces New Aix-en-Provence Location

LOS ANGELES and AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France, Aug. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- American Apparel (NYSE MKT: APP), the vertically integrated clothing manufacturer based in downtown Los Angeles, has announced the relocation of its Aix-en-Provence store.

Set in a magnificent former hotel particulier, the new location (5 rue Papassaudi) features an open, single floor layout and spacious flower garden. The shop honors much of the building's early architecture including stone walls, a fireplace (transformed into a shoe display) and double front doors depicting the city's emblem of two lion faces.

With history dating back to the 16^th century, it marks the company's oldest interior in Europe.

"We were very lucky to work with this beautiful space," said Marsha Brady, the company's creative director, "The rich locale will provide our customers with a unique and exciting shopping experience."

American Apparel has eleven other French locations in Paris, Toulouse and Lyon.

"France is one of our most thriving markets," said Sarah Haith, managing director for Europe, "The new Aix-en-Provence store will ensure its continued success."

The storefront opened on July 29th, 2014 and features products for men, women and children. The new location is situated among retailers The Kooples, Sandro, American Vintage, Petit Bateau, Loft, Gap, Hermes, MAC, Zadig & Voltaire and Bang & Olufsen.
