Customers are Invited to Experience the Heart and Soul of the Tony Award-Nominated Musical Phenomenon May 24
NEW YORK, May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As travelers jet off for the Memorial Day weekend, American Airlines will host a special performance from Broadway's newest hit, Ghost, at Terminal 8 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on Thursday, May 24.
The cast of Ghost will perform a selection of pop/rock original songs inside the secure area at Terminal 8, delighting customers with music from Broadway's newest phenomenon. As Ghost's Official Airline Partner, American Airlines will host two free performances at its JFK terminal at 3 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
"American Airlines is proud to be the Official Airline Partner of Ghost in both London and New York," said Joann Camuti, American's Director – Sales Promotions and Community Relations for New York. "The cast is immensely talented and we're delighted to be a part of their show."
Ghost is a timeless fantasy about the power of love adapted from the hit film by its Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin and directed by Tony Award®-winner Matthew Warchus. The story follows Sam and Molly, a young couple whose divine bond takes a shocking turn after Sam's untimely death. Trapped between two worlds as a ghost, Sam refuses to leave Molly when he learns she is in grave danger. Desperate to communicate with her, he turns to a storefront psychic, Oda Mae, who helps Sam protect Molly and find justice for his death. The original score is by multiple Grammy®Award winners Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard, and includes the emblematic "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers.
"We are thrilled to bring the talent of Ghost to customers traveling through Terminal 8," said Mark Najarian, American's General Manager – JFK Airport. "We remain committed to the Broadway community and will continue to treat customers with special performances throughout the summer."
During the airport performances, Ghost will offer travelers additional information on upcoming shows at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
