American Airlines Re-Launches Chicago - Dublin Flight and Moves to Dublin's Terminal 2
Passengers to Benefit from Pre-Clearing U.S. Immigration and Customs
CHICAGO, March 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its new summer schedule, American Airlines will re-launch its daily nonstop flight between Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Dublin, Ireland, beginning April 5. The route will be operated using American's two-class Boeing 767-300 aircraft offering a total of 225 seats, including 30 in Business Class.
Starting April 6, American will also move its operations into Dublin Airport's new Terminal 2 that opened in late 2010. That means customers will be able to pre-clear U.S. immigration and customs prior to boarding their flight. On arrival in Chicago, customers will be treated as domestic rather than international passengers. They will be allowed to make connections in American's Terminal 3 at O'Hare and will not need to claim and re-check baggage before continuing on their next flight.
"We are delighted to resume our service to Dublin and to relocate in Dublin's newest terminal," said Loretta Kuss, Director – Passenger Sales – Chicago. "We look forward to welcoming back our Irish customers and hope they will enjoy the U.S. Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance benefits made possible by our terminal move."
Customers also enjoy the benefits of a more spacious check-in environment including a dedicated American Airlines ticket counter and five check-in desks. For the first time in Dublin customers will have access to two American Airlines self-service machines that enable a range of transactions including re-printing boarding passes, seat selection and, of course, check-in. Combined with online check-in already available to international passengers via www.aa.com, this additional check-in option will speed customers through the terminal.
