American Airlines Opens More Doors for Admirals Club Members Worldwide
American Utilizes Partnerships to Gain Access to More Lounges
Plus Coming Soon: New and Updated Lounges with Complimentary Wi-Fi for All
FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines is enhancing Admirals Club memberships as members gain access to more lounges worldwide than ever before. Through expanded access agreements with select oneworld® and other partner airlines, Admirals Club members will now be able to experience premium lounges in destinations where American flies, but does not have an Admirals Club, including Seattle, Portland, Budapest, Delhi, Beijing and Shanghai.
"As an airline, we are focused on finding new ways to enhance the travel experience for our customers. Today, we open doors for club members in over 40 Admirals Club locations, 33 Qantas Club locations, and 10 partner clubs worldwide," said Nancy Knipp, American's President Admirals Club. "With these new agreements, our airline partners are helping us add value to our membership by providing club service in select new cities where we do not currently have an Admirals Club."
As part of American's arrangements, Admirals Club members can gain access to these lounges by presenting a valid Admirals Club membership card along with a same day boarding pass on a flight operated and marketed by American Airlines. For a complete list of lounges and access policies, visit www.aa.com/flybetter.
With this new membership enhancement, American reinforces its commitment to provide a differentiated, modern customer experience with a distinct focus on delivering what high-value customers expect most – world class products and services, including offering new menu items, enhanced premium cabin amenities and upcoming aircraft deliveries. In fact, between 2007 and 2011, American expects to invest over $5.5 billion in new aircraft and onboard and facility enhancement projects to improve the customer experience.
As part of that investment, American this year opened a brand new, LEED-registered Admirals Club in San Francisco (SFO) and recently completed expansion to the JFK C Admirals Club. In addition, American has updated the look and feel of the Admirals Club located at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), as well as renovated its Boston Admirals Club and the London Heathrow Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge last year. To further enhance the customer experience, refurbishments to American's clubs located at Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport (ATL), Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Caracas, Venezuela (CCS) are expected to be complete in 2012.
In addition, extensive renovations are currently underway at American's Admirals Club at New York La Guardia (LGA), located in Concourse D across from Gate D1. The project is slated for completion during summer 2012.
American also plans to break ground soon on a new Admirals Club in the LGA C Concourse. The new LGA C club, also slated for completion in summer 2012, will span more than 4,600 square feet with comfortable seating for 70 guests.
For added customer convenience American also is currently outfitting its Admirals Club facilities with complimentary Wi-Fi for all guests visiting the club. Today travelers will find an easier, more efficient log-in process and access to complimentary Wi-Fi on multiple mobile devices at clubs in Chicago, Washington Dulles, Reagan National, Los Angeles, St. Louis and San Francisco with additional cities coming soon as the company continues to install complimentary Wi-Fi at its remaining lounges.
While Wi-Fi keeps customers connected, luxury spa products keep them refreshed. Continuing its investment in improving the customer experience, later this year visitors to the Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge will be able to pamper themselves with Dermalogica® skincare and cleansing products. The high-end spa products will be available exclusively at Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge locations in Los Angeles, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, New York Kennedy and Miami by the end of the 2011. It includes hair care products, moisturizing body wash and facial cleanser and cream.
"As our airline evolves, we are focused on finding new ways to enrich the experience for our high-value customers. Our club enhancements, both in access and facility/product upgrades, are just one example of our company's commitment to that focus," added Knipp.
