FORT WORTH, Texas, Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines and American Eagle are partnering with the American Red Cross to aid those affected by Hurricane Isaac, which recently lashed the Gulf Coast with heavy rains, damaging winds and widespread flooding. Members of the American Airlines AAdvantage® program can support relief efforts by donating to the American Red Cross to help provide shelter, food and other assistance to victims.
Through Oct. 1, 2012, AAdvantage members will earn a one-time award of 250 AAdvantage miles for a minimum donation of $50, or 500 AAdvantage miles for a donation of $100 or more to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.
"With the widespread flooding and extensive damage caused by Hurricane Isaac, it is critical to provide as much help as we can," said Andy Backover, American's Vice President – Communications. "This is why we are inviting our customers to join us in supporting the American Red Cross' efforts to provide much-needed assistance to the victims of this devastating storm."
Numerous trained Red Cross disaster workers from across the United States have traveled to the region to aid in relief efforts. By donating to American Red Cross Disaster Relief, American Airlines customers can support people who were in the hurricane's path as they begin to recover and rebuild.
