FORT WORTH, Texas, July 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Having received approval from both U.S. and Brazilian authorities, American Airlines will launch 17 additional frequencies between the United States and Brazil beginning this fall. These new routes provide American's customers with even more choices and seamless travel options when traveling to and from Latin America.
"Customers have told us they desire more service to South America's largest country and economy," said Virasb Vahidi, American's Chief Commercial Officer. "Our expanded service to Brazil, along with the introduction of our Boeing 777-300ER to Sao Paulo this December, will give our customers even more travel choices to Latin America."
Beginning Oct. 1, American will launch a second daily flight between New York's Kennedy Airport and Sao Paulo. On Nov. 15, American will convert its daily Miami to Salvador flight, with continuing service to Recife, from one-stop service to non-stop service five days per week between Miami and both Recife and Salvador. American will also increase its current one daily non-stop flight between Miami and Rio de Janeiro to two daily non-stops on Dec. 15.
