ST. LOUIS, Aug. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems and services, today announced that it has entered into a five-year managed services agreement with TIM Brasil across its wireless, wireline and broadband lines of business. As a result, TIM Brasil, the country's second largest mobile service provider, will be able to focus on customer needs and service innovation while realizing operational cost efficiencies.

Under the agreement, Amdocs will manage TIM Brasil's operational support systems (OSS) across all lines of business, providing application development and maintenance as well as assuming responsibility for legacy systems and all third-party OSS vendor contracts. On the business support systems (BSS) side, Amdocs will manage its products deployed across TIM's businesses, including the end-to-end "order to cash" solution suite at TIM Brasil's new fiber optic residential broadband service. Amdocs' new Sao Carlos Operations Center will play a key role in providing the managed services for TIM Brasil.
"The IT organization needs to evolve, following the company's growth. We are standardizing TIM's systems and Amdocs is a partner in this project," said Luigi Longarini, IT Director of TIM Brasil. "TIM Brasil will now directly benefit from Amdocs' 30 years of expertise in managing complex operations. As a result, we expect to achieve accelerated growth, cost reduction and further improvements in our customers' experience. Today's agreement marks an important expansion of our relationship with Amdocs as a trusted partner."
"The broad scope of our agreement with TIM Brasil brings a new type of managed services capability to the Latin American market," said Patrick McGrory, president, CALA (Caribbean and Latin America) for Amdocs. "In addition to managing the complete business process cycle for TIM's broadband service, Amdocs will assume responsibility for all of TIM Brasil's third-party and legacy OSS systems – freeing them to focus on developing innovative new services and market offers while keeping operational costs under control."
Today's announcement strengthens Amdocs' strategic partnership with TIM Brasil. In February 2011, Amdocs announced that TIM Brasil had selected it to provide the foundation for its B/OSS transformation initiative supporting its next-generation wireless and wireline network; the first phase went live later that year.
This March, Amdocs announced that TIM Brasil selected Amdocs BSS and OSS solutions services to additionally support its new fiber optic broadband service. As a result of the complete Amdocs solution implemented (in conformance with TM Forum's Business Process Framework), TIM was able to launch its residential broadband service in just five months after the contract signing. This will enable TIM Brasil to realize cost efficiencies while quickly delivering new, lower-cost bundled services to its customers.
