ST. LOUIS, Nov. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Amdocs (NASDAQ: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience solutions, announced today that it has been named the leading vendor in the global convergent charging solutions market in two separate reports by analyst firm, Infonetics Research. In the Infonetics Vendor Scorecard1 Report, which identifies the strongest vendors in the domain across a broad set of criteria, including market share momentum, financials and product roadmap - Amdocs ranked highest. In a second Infonetics report2, which polled decision makers at 26 service providers worldwide, Amdocs was named top convergent charging vendor by the highest percentage of respondents.
"The larger the service provider and the more lines of business it has, the more charging silos it needs to interoperate, making it almost impossible to launch revenue-generating, bundled offers ," said Shira Levine, Directing Analyst, Service Enablement and Subscriber Intelligence at Infonetics Research. "As a result, we are seeing a growing number of service providers running up against the limits of their existing systems and replacing them with robust convergent charging systems that enable them to deploy convergent charging capabilities with minimal risk and rollout time, a trend that Amdocs has been able to capitalize on as it solidifies its position in this highly competitive market."
Infonetics' research finds that reducing time to market for new services and better monetization of data services top the list of business factors driving convergent charging investments. Most notable is the heightened recognition of the criticality of integrated policy management as the enabler for this. Eighty-eight percent of respondents stated that their convergent charging systems are, or will be, integrated with policy management, up from just 59 percent in last year's survey.
"Amdocs has lead innovation in the billing and charging domain for over 30 years," said Rebecca Prudhomme, Amdocs vice president of product and solutions marketing. "Our Omni Convergent Charging solution integrates policy control with real-time charging to enable service providers to launch and monetize advanced data services quickly and offer any type of service convergence, whether across payment methods, lines of business or networks. We were also the first in the industry to demonstrate virtualized, real-time charging, and are spearheading industry IN systems replacement as service providers look to deploy convergent charging capabilities that can allow them to retire these prepaid only systems no longer capable to support market expectations."
