Ambassador Ron Kirk, U.S. Trade Representative, to Discuss Obama's Trade Agenda at the National Press Club
WASHINGTON, March 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk will discuss the role the Obama Administration's trade agenda is playing in creating jobs and contributing to global leadership at a National Press Club luncheon on Tuesday, March 9. Ambassador Kirk will focus on the effort to support American jobs by seizing new trade opportunities, enforcing existing American trade rights, and demonstrating the global leadership necessary to keep trade flowing through the economic downturn and into recovery.

Ambassador Kirk draws on more than 25 years of diverse legislative and economic experience on local, state and federal levels. Highlights have included a new focus on trade policy that assists America's small-and medium-sized businesses, increased enforcements efforts to bring home the benefits of existing trade agreements, and changes to move forward the Doha Round of world trade negotiations. As the first African American mayor of Dallas, Ambassador Kirk expanded Dallas' reach to the world through a range of trade programs, including numerous trade missions.
