WASHINGTON, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ambassador John Bolton puts his full support behind GOP Senate candidate Joni Ernst who is aiming to become Iowa's first female senator, including the John Bolton PAC contributing the maximum amount to the Ernst campaign - $5,000 to her primary debt and $5,000 to her general election. Ernst, currently an Iowa State Senator and Lieutenant Colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard, is a rising star in the Republican Party and running a critical race against liberal trial lawyer Bruce Braley. This is the fifth campaign contribution from John Bolton PAC.
According to Ambassador Bolton, "As a lifelong Iowan, Joni represents true Iowa values and I have no doubt she will be an important voice in the U.S. Senate. Additionally, as a member of the National Guard and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Joni understands what it takes to lead and ensure that American values are represented at home and abroad."
The John Bolton PAC is committed to supporting candidates for the House and Senate who believe in restoring America's national security, while the John Bolton Super PAC aims to make America's defense and foreign policy a significant factor in federal elections. Together, the PACs have raised over $3M, with Ambassador Bolton committed to supporting as many candidates as possible in the 2014 midterm election.
Already the PAC has contributed to U.S. Senate candidates Mitch McConnell (KY) and Tom Cotton (AR), along with U.S. House of Representative candidates Martha McSally (AZ-2), Barbara Comstock (VA-10), and Adam Kinzinger (IL-16).
