Ambassador John Bolton Endorses And Makes PAC Contribution To Louisiana Senate Candidate Dr. Bill Cassidy
With the Louisiana senate race gaining attention nationwide, Bolton commits to Rep. Cassidy with a PAC donation of $5,000.
WASHINGTON, Aug. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ambassador John Bolton endorses Rep. Bill Cassidy (LA-6) for U.S. Senate in Louisiana and will make a PAC donation of $5,000. Cassidy is in a heated campaign against incumbent liberal Democrat Sen. Mary Landrieu. A career politician, Landrieu faces renewed inquiries for potentially violating campaign finance laws by using Senate finances for campaign fundraising trips.
"Bill has shown himself in Congress to be a leader and is respected by his peers," Ambassador Bolton said. "He understands the importance of national security and the damage President Obama and his supportive Democrat senators have caused America. The U.S. and Louisiana need new leadership in the Senate, and Bill is the right person to lead that charge."
Bolton is committed to supporting candidates for elected office who believe in protecting the United States' vital freedoms at home by securing American interests in a challenging world. The John Bolton PAC and the John Bolton Super PAC have raised a combined $4.5 million to date with over $3 million cash on hand.
According to Cassidy, "Sen. Landrieu supports President Obama's agenda 97 percent of the time. That agenda includes an ineffectual foreign policy that has weakened our national strength abroad and endangers our national security. Ambassador Bolton understands that America needs to put a check on Barack Obama's foreign policy by flipping the U.S. Senate and putting common-sense conservatives in charge. I'm honored to receive Ambassador Bolton's endorsement. He's a trusted voice on foreign policy, and I'm glad to have his counsel."
Ambassador Bolton's PAC has endorsed and made contributions to 18 candidates, including U.S. Senate candidates former Sen. Scott Brown (NH), Thom Tillis (NC), Ed Gillespie (VA), Rep. Tom Cotton (AR), Joni Ernst (IA), Terri Lynn Land (MI), and Leader Mitch McConnell (KY), along with U.S. House of Representatives candidates, Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-6), Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25), Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL-27), Carlos Curbelo (FL-26), Will Hurd (TX-23), Martha McSally (AZ-2), Barbara Comstock (VA-10), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL-16), former Rep. Robert Dold (IL-10), and Rep. Mike Pompeo (KA-4).
