Ambassador Huntsman to Visit Lifetime Products' Xiamen Factory
Agenda includes tour of 1.7-million sq ft wholly owned and operated manufacturing facility in Xiamen, Fuijan, China; preview of Lifetime's new EcoHousing Initiative; and donation to orphanage
CLEARFIELD, Utah, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Utah-headquartered company, Lifetime Products, is pleased to welcome the United States Ambassador to China and the 16th Governor of Utah, Jon Huntsman, Jr., to its manufacturing facility in Xiamen, China on January 22, 2010. Ambassador Huntsman will be accompanied by Mr. Harley Seyedin, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China, and Mr. Brian L. Goldbeck, Consul General in Gangzou. They will be greeted by Lifetime Products President Richard Hendrickson and CFO Mark Whiting.
"We are honored to have Ambassador Huntsman visit our China facility," said Hendrickson. "We believe Lifetime Products is a true leader in demonstrating how American-based companies can successfully manage manufacturing facilities in both the U.S. and foreign countries to best meet the needs of consumers. Showing Ambassador Huntsman our facility will help strengthen the relationships and foundations needed to pave the way to ensure continued mutually-beneficial success in international commerce."
The visit will include a factory tour of Lifetime's all-new 1.7-million square-foot manufacturing facility, built as a Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE). Being wholly owned and operated gives Lifetime tight control of product quality and allows Lifetime to be globally competitive to successfully meet domestic and international manufacturing challenges. The state-of-the art blow-molding and metal facility was designed using the decades of experience Lifetime gained by manufacturing residential basketball hoops, blow-molded folding tables and chairs, and more in Utah for over 23 years.
Following the tour, Lifetime will give Ambassador Huntsman a preview of Lifetime's all-new, global revolutionizing product, the EcoHouse. At that time, details also will be unveiled about Lifetime's new EcoHousing Initiative to bring low-cost and low-maintenance housing to disaster-stricken or otherwise impoverished areas.
In addition, in honor of Ambassador Huntsman's visit to its Xiamen manufacturing facility, Lifetime Products will be donating two of its in-ground basketball hoops to the Tongxin Charity Orphanage.
"Lifetime is always looking for ways to give back to the communities in which it operates, and we identified the Tongxin Charity Orphanage as a particular group that will enjoy the basketball hoops," said Hendrickson, "Xiamen is an important part of our future. We care about the citizens in the community of Xiamen and the Fuijan Providence and we hope these basketball hoops provide years of exercise and fun, and will improve the quality of life for children at the orphanage."
