Ambassador Bolton Endorses Oklahoma Senate Candidate Rep. James Lankford
To takeover the U.S. Senate and change U.S. national security policy, the GOP needs to pick up six seats in November's midterm elections.
WASHINGTON, Sept. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- John Bolton makes his 25th endorsement of the midterm elections with the support of Oklahoma Rep. James Lankford in his bid for the U.S. Senate. Lankford holds a 25% lead over state Senator Connie Johnson; the winner of the special election will serve the remaining two years of retiring Senator Tom Coburn's term.
"Recent events in Gaza, Iraq, and Ukraine, once again confirm that the absence of U.S. international leadership only leads to chaos abroad and danger at home," said Bolton. "Now more than ever we need leaders like James Lankford in the United States Senate who will follow Ronald Reagan's maxim of 'peace through strength.' While President Obama guts our national defense and prestige abroad, James Lankford has held the White House accountable for foreign policy scandals like Benghazi and will help reinvest in America's interests abroad. James Lankford will make Oklahoma proud in the United States Senate."
Bolton is committed to supporting candidates for elected office who believe in protecting the United States' vital freedoms at home by securing American interests in a challenging world. The John Bolton PAC and the John Bolton Super PAC have raised a combined $4.5 million to date with over $3 million cash on hand.
"I'm honored to have the support of Ambassador Bolton in my bid to serve the people of Oklahoma in the United States Senate," said Lankford. "Ambassador Bolton has been a consistent voice for American strength and leadership. Today's headlines are proof that President Obama's policy of appeasement has only created a power vacuum that is quickly being filled by global actors that directly threaten our national security. I look forward to working with leaders like Ambassador Bolton who believe we should practice peace through strength and be diligent as we keep our nation safe."
Ambassador Bolton's PAC has endorsed or made contributions to 25 candidates, including U.S. Senate candidates Dan Sullivan (AK), David Perdue (GA), Rep. Bill Cassidy (LA), former Sen. Scott Brown (NH), Thom Tillis (NC), Ed Gillespie (VA), Rep. Tom Cotton (AR), Joni Ernst (IA), Terri Lynn Land (MI), and Leader Mitch McConnell (KY), along with U.S. House of Representatives candidates Rep. French Hill (AR-2), Rep. Mike Pompeo (KS-4), Bruce Westerman (AR-4), Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-6), Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25), Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL-27), Carlos Curbelo (FL-26), Will Hurd (TX-23), Martha McSally (AZ-2), Barbara Comstock (VA-10), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL-16), and former Rep. Robert Dold (IL-10).
