WASHINGTON, June 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Amanda Kirsch has been named marketing company president of U-Haul Company of Metro D.C. As president, Kirsch will oversee all operations including truck, trailer and storage rentals. Her knowledge and focus on achieving goals will greatly contribute to the success of U-Haul.
"I am excited to share my years of experience and knowledge with my team," Kirsch said. "It has always been a personal goal of mine to see others succeed in their line of work."
Kirsch began her U-Haul career in January 2000 as a customer service representative at U-Haul Moving and Storage of Orange Park. Shortly thereafter she transferred to U-Haul Moving and Storage of Mandarin in the same role. She then was promoted to reservation manager for U-Haul Company of Jacksonville in April 2002, and less than a year later was promoted to general manager. During the next four years, Kirsch served as traffic control manager, storage manager and general manager within U-Haul Company of Jacksonville until her promotion in April 2008 to area field manager for U-Haul Company of Central Indiana. In August 2008, Kirsch became senior area field manager, the position she held until her promotion to president in November 2013.
Kirsch plans to use her knowledge to teach her team to be moving experts. She believes she has a strong team already and is looking forward to accomplishing personal goals as well as goals set by her team.
"I have a very hands-on approach; I am always trying to help those around me in achieving their personal goals," Kirsch said. "I am a firm believer that your own success is determined by the success of your teammates."
