AM General Continues Growth Momentum With Additional $69M In Aftermarket Parts And Accessories Contracts
This comes on the heels of several key events for the company including the $2.2 Billion Foreign Military Sales requirements contract award, 2017 ISO/TS16949 Certification, and the ETI HMMWV / Hawkeye live fire exercise with International Delegations.
SOUTH BEND, Ind., Oct. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Global vehicles solutions provider, AM General, enhances its robust aftermarket business with contract awards for various accessories, parts and modifications kits totaling $69 million. The most recent contracts include orders for fragmentary armor kits, and the rugged 6.5L V8 turbodiesel engine. This is in addition to the recent announcement of the award for a 5-year, firm fixed price Foreign Military Sale (FMS) requirements contract, of which the company has already received delivery orders for more than one quarter ($550,000,000) of the $2.2 billion maximum value.
"AM General supports our vehicles around the globe with a wide and diverse range of OEM parts, modifications kits and services," said AM General President and CEO, Andy Hove. "We are laser focused on providing this support for the continually increasing installed base of vehicles. We readily and reliably deliver aftermarket products to maintain fleet readiness and to enhance existing fleets for our global customers." Aftermarket products like the fragmentary armor kits provide added levels of protection at key points on High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), including greater protection for front passengers and improvements to hardware inside and outside of the armor plating.
The Company's range of products also adhere to the most rigorous testing and quality standards, which is a clear demonstration of the ongoing history of delivering quality. The 6.5L V8 turbodiesel that can be integrated into existing fleets of HMMWVs, is built at the AM General Powertrain Assembly Plant. The plant recently completed the 2017 ISO/TS16949 Surveillance audit, a necessary requirement to supply parts / assemblies to automotive partners, with zero findings – the highest standing in the automotive industry. The Plant maintains an excellent record of both audits and customer satisfaction by adhering to the requirements set forth in the applicable standards every day, which directly results in the highest quality products that customers demand and that AM General delivers today.
AM General continues to gain momentum not only because of the breadth and scope in its product offerings, but also because of its ability to provide global customers direct access to see the value these products provide. The Company recently hosted delegations from Mexico, Japan, Singapore and Jordan as well as representatives from the US military, to view live fire demonstrations of the Enhanced Tactical Indirect (ETI) – HMMWV Hawkeye. It was the first time that international delegation representatives witnessed firsthand the powerful, innovative, and cost-effective ETI – HMMWV Hawkeye. The weapons system demonstrates true innovation in providing commanders with highly mobile, easily deployable artillery based on the ubiquitous HMMWV.
