Alzheimer's Foundation of America Announces 2019 National Educating America Tour Events
Third Year of Multi-Year Tour to Educate Communities About Alzheimer's Disease
NEW YORK, Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) announced the 2019 stops for its Educating America Tour, a multi-year program which brings information about Alzheimer's disease, brain health and dementia caregiving directly into communities. The tour visits states across the country to raise Alzheimer's awareness, promote early detection and provide information about Alzheimer's-related programs, support services and research.
Over 5 million Americans currently have Alzheimer's disease, and that number is expected to as much as triple by 2060.
"Information is an invaluable tool that everyone should have at their disposal," said Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., AFA's President & CEO. "AFA's Educating America Tour travels the country to connect individuals with information and services. Whether you're a caregiver, have Alzheimer's or just want to be proactive about your brain health, there are services available to help. We invite you to come learn about them at these free events which are open to all."
Each tour stop features a free Alzheimer's educational conference where individuals learn from, and interact with, leading experts in the Alzheimer's field. Participants can learn about topics such as preventing cognitive decline and protecting brain health; caregiving; care planning; and Alzheimer's-related research and clinical trials. Free, confidential memory screenings, which are quick, easy wellness checkups designed to check cognitive ability, will also be offered at each event.
