Aluminum Association Reaches Record Membership with Company Additions

ARLINGTON, Va., July 1, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Aluminum Association announced today the addition of three companies to the organization's membership.  Scotwood Industries, Page Transportation and Alloy Technology Innovations, each of which provides goods or services to the aluminum industry, will join the Association as Associate members.  These additions bring total membership of the Aluminum Association to a record 98 members, consisting of 51 producer and 47 associate members.

Additionally, the Association's Executive Committee, which provides strategic vision and guidance to the Board of Directors, recently elected three new members -- Etienne Jacques, Chief Operating Officer for Rio Tinto Alcan Primary Metal North America; Kelly Thomas, Senior Vice President and General Manager, North America Rolled Products at Aleris; and Michelle O'Neill, Vice President of Government Affairs and Trade Policy for Alcoa.

Between 2009 and today, aluminum demand has risen 27 percent and is reaching pre-recession levels. Additionally, the industry has proactively taken steps in recent years to reduce its own carbon footprint by cutting North American perfluorocarbon (PFC) emissions by 85%.
