CARLSBAD, Calif. and WESTBOROUGH, Mass., Dec. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Altium has engaged in a partnership with CADD Edge, a leading reseller of product design software, to deliver Altium's next-generation electronics design software and services to over 10,000 U.S. customers in CADD Edge's network. Altium's products complement CADD Edge's existing line of design tools and solutions from SolidWorks, Omnify, Objet and others, and allow Altium to broaden its reach in the U.S. market.
"CADD Edge is excited to add Altium as one of its core business solutions. Our primary goal is to enable customers to design better products in a shorter period of time, and the ability to offer Altium's industry-leading EDA software will further that mission," said Tim Preston, president and founder of CADD Edge. "Like Altium, we pride ourselves on helping companies to take their ideas from concept to manufacturing using a unified design platform. Having Altium in our solutions mix further allows us to provide customers a single source for all of their product development needs."
CADD Edge will make available Altium's full product offering to the entire Eastern U.S., covering all states east of the Mississippi River from Maine to Florida. This includes award-winning Altium Designer software with robust design data management capabilities, hardware/software co-design, real-time 3D PCB design, FPGA design, version control and release management, and more. Altium Designer is linked to AltiumLive, a new web-based ecosystem that acts as a conduit for delivering content and services directly to customers on the Altium subscription plan, and provides a platform that Altium's customers can use to create cloud-connected electronic devices faster. Also available through CADD Edge will be Altium's Satellite Vault technology for secure lifecycle management of electronic design data.
"With Altium Designer's industry-leading ECAD data management, 3D PCB design, and the tight integration with SolidWorks 3D CAD software for mechanical engineers, this new partnership represents a significant growth opportunity for both companies," said Chris Donato, director of sales for North America, Altium. "Over 2,000 companies have switched to Altium Designer in the past two years. As Altium continues to grow and capture more market share, partnering with a proven solutions provider such as CADD Edge will only make it easier for new customers to access and be successful with our solutions."
