Altier Credit Union Brings Dave Ramsey's Financial Literacy Curriculum to Local Students

PHOENIX, Oct. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its commitment to promoting financial literacy in its surrounding community, GOBankingRates client Altier Credit Union announced this month that it is sponsoring Dave Ramsey's "Foundations in Personal Finance" curriculum for 80 students at Tempe High School. The course, which uses interactive learning techniques to explain key principles from Ramsey's best-selling books, aims to give students a solid financial base so they can avoid money problems later in life.

"Foundations in Personal Finance" meets Jump$tart national standards and benchmarks in all 50 states, and has been taught in more than 10,000 classrooms.
Classes are taught on DVD by Ramsey and his daughter, Rachel Cruze.
Course workbooks supplement the video lessons and provide opportunities for students to apply the concepts and measure their individual progress
Ramsey has authored five New York Times best-selling books. More than 8 million listeners tune in weekly to listen to the "Dave Ramsey Show," which is broadcast on more than 500 radio stations.
