Alticast Ranks Highly in HD-PVR Usability Survey Carried out by TBB in Germany
Independent Testing of Germany's HD-PVR Boxes Reveals the Good, the Bad and the Ugly
FRANKFURT, Germany, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- A recently published report from TBB (thebrainbehind) regarding consumer usability of 2010 market deployed HD-PVR Set Top Boxes in Germany placed Alticast and collaborators at the top of the pile. The independent report states that Pay-TV, Free-to-Air and Cable Operator-boxes were tested for their ease of use and functionality. And that in order to do so TBB tested the boxes in the home environment looking at the products from the perspective of the audience whilst basing their tests on a comprehensive criteria-weighting matrix, individual functions and integration of the product. Besides the main applications such as EPG, PVR and VOD, all functions were evaluated including the general menu navigation.
The report states that the highest rated product was the Unitymedia HD PVR running Alticast/Zappware Software/UI and built by Echostar.
