Alternative Petroleum Technologies Appoints Dr. Fred Buckingham, P.E. as CEO in addition to Chairman of the Board

LUXEMBOURG, July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Alternative Petroleum Technologies S.A. ("APT") announced today that Dr. Fred Buckingham, P.E. has assumed the CEO position in addition to serving as Chairman of its Board of Directors.  According to fellow board member Jack Carter, "Dr. Buckingham brings his unique experience and leadership to APT as the company implements the global commercialization of its emulsion technology. We look forward to working with him."

Dr. Buckingham has over thirty five years of experience developing and deploying hybrid liquid fuel technology including liquid slurries and emulsions. He has engaged in the development, design and deployment of high technology equipment and systems and has extensive engineering experience evaluating energy systems for power production and industrial processes.

Dr. Buckingham has authored numerous technical publications on preparation and combustion of liquid fuels. He received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975. He received a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1980 and earned a Ph.D. in 1993 from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Buckingham is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
