Altera's Arria II GX FPGAs Take Top Honors at EDN China's 2010 Innovation Awards

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 29, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR) today announced its Arria® II GX FPGAs were honored by EDN China with it prestigious "Innovation Award" in the Programmable Logic category. Altera was presented with the award at EDN China's Innovation Awards ceremony on November 17 in Shenzhen.

The award is one of the most widely respected industry awards voted by China's electronics design experts, universities and institutes, as well as EDN China editors. The annual Innovation Awards are presented to innovative and outstanding companies from across the semiconductor industry that have made a significant impact in the systems design community.

Arria II GX FPGAs feature up to 16 6.375-Gbps transceivers, LVDS at 1.25 Gbps, support for 400-MHz DDR3 and offers 50 percent lower static power than competitive offerings. These features and benefits make Arria II GX FPGAs ideal for a broad array of applications in markets such as wireless, wireline, test, medical and storage.
