Altera's Stratix IV GT FPGA Recognized for Enabling Next-Generation Communications Infrastructure to Support Growing Bandwidth Requirements
SAN JOSE, Calif., June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR) today announced its Stratix® IV GT FPGA received TechAmerica Foundation's American Technology Award in the electronic components category. TechAmerica recognized Altera for demonstrating excellence in technology with its Stratix IV GT FPGA, which was designed specifically to meet the performance and system bandwidth requirements of today's high-bandwidth systems.
Altera received the award at TechAmerica's Eighth Annual Technology and Government Dinner which was held in Washington, D.C. on June 16. The event included hundreds of industry, congressional and government leaders celebrating the partnership between industry and government. Winners of the American Technology Awards represent the best of the technology industry as vetted by industry experts and technology peers.
Altera's Stratix IV GT FPGAs are optimized specifically for the latest generation of 40G and 100G applications used in communications systems, high-end test equipment and military communications systems. The FPGAs feature a combination of high-speed 11.3-Gbps transceivers to support high-throughput system requirements, as well as core performance and logic density to handle the complex processing needed to manage 40G/100G networks.
